2) I do not know how Paul and Jesse pick which communities need CLs, but I guess it would have to do with the amount of drama and turmoil in the main boards.
3) we get nothing, but it doubles each month!
4) Read the blog, it looks like it is going to be a DS staff matter to pick from the applicants. But I think they will take user feedback into account!
5) If you know a CL you can always PM them with questions about the job. Posting questions here does seem to get answers as well.
It's not going down well in bipolar at all. And yes we have dramas but that's our nature.
I have no interest in the post and it seems to have been extremely poorly communicated and generally not wanted by the BP board.
I've directed Paul to the thread in BP where it is being discussed.
Thanks once again for your reply.

Another member set up a thread just to vote on this. 28 against, 1 for.
I think having a CL would cut down on the abuse of the reporting that sends out an auto warning email. Because when folks get those they then get mad all over and go to the board to grip and plead their case and start the blame game and putting others down for disagreeing with their opinion.
With a CL then the CL can try to talk in PM with those involved and stop the replies to a post that is upsetting everyone. If that doesn't work then they just close that Topic and any others that come up to trying to keep the issue going. Then they (the CL's) talk with DS's higher ups to look into it.
That way a "click" of friends can't gang up on others to get them warned/banned. The higher ups get a better idea of the picture by the CL referring them to the closed Topics.
It's not a power trip that a CL can come in and take over. A CL is going to work as a buffer.
The score is at 32 against, 2 for. One of those those 2 joined Thursday, is a member of this group but has zero friends.

I put in my above comment and added:
Additional info: CL's aren't going to chastise ppl or treat others as "children". The CL will only step in IF an issue is brought to their attention by someone that is on a Community board at the time an issue comes up. They will only take action if those involved conduct themselves in a way that goes against the Rules of the Road. (Which have been in place for a long time)

Maybe keep an open mind about it and remember you can report a CL as well as anyone else if you feel they are getting power hungry.
I hope this can either diminish fears of how CLs would impact your board, or make them more concrete and thus better to deal with.
It is entirely possible that the BP group may want to have a slightly different set of guidelines than the depression group. And I support that notion!
