oh no - shingles???

ahhhh!

I'm having a flare right now. I have a stressful day on Wednesday that rates about a 20 on a scale of 1-10.

now I have these stripe line welts in the middle of my back. It almost looks like fingernail scratches but it's too blotchy and uneven to be that, plus I know I wasn't scratched there. and they are sore.

I've never had a rash with lupus before in the entire 5 years I've had it.

have any of you had this?

does it sound like shingles? oh no!

I've had shingles twice. Once before I had tumid lupus and once since. They start out with your skin being very achy but not broken out. Shingles is due to the nerve endings and that is what causes the pain.
Call your doctor and find out for sure and get some medicine (topical and pills).

I have had the shingles once. It was horrible. I had it show up on my forehead and in my scalp. The worse pain I ever had. The dr. treated me immediately with pills. I am not sure what the rx name but it worked.

well, as fast as it came, it started to fade, THank God for that. I think it was something like or related to shingles but maybe my body decided it had enough problems and let it go. As with lupus, who the heck knows?

I had shingles also that appeared on my scalp and my forehead, it burned and stung, went away after three weeks with treatment.

probably experienced it but it was when I had some sun exposure when I went on vacation. Make sure you wear zinc oxide sublock or SPF 30 clothing (or get the Sunguard from Dermadoctor.com)

Hi i have had Lupus for 13 years now and i have had shingles on numerous occassions, i tend to get shingles in the same place everytime this being on my neck, chin and nose. I have currently got Shingles now and have had to stop my cellcept because of this until i clears up. Not good is it!!!!

    Is anyone here allergic to Sulfa that is currently taking Diamox? I have been diagnosed with IH now for almost 2 years. I am allergic to Sulfa drugs meaning that my throat will swell up so my Neurologist put me on Topamax. I was suffering from major loud whoosing noises and the topamax helped that but everyday I still hear those mainly between 6 - 12 pm. I am at my wits end and have not went...
