Neupogen side effects

Due to my WBC count being tooo low I'm being put on neupogen injections three times a week. I'm doing pretty good with TX so far and would like to know what people are experiencing for side effects from this Med. Thanx Four week blood test came in at a viral load of 81k down from 588k before starting, a little early in treatment but it offers a little hope.

You ask the right question Brother, I had to do the same 3 extra shots of nupregen too, My shots for them were already made in a syringe, and it hurt like a "mutha fucka" I got use to it though,Anyways the first injection made me feel wierd? then after that it was ok! But keep in mind that my last treatment I had to inject every night too, as well as those big ass nuepregen shots, I hope yours are smaller on the east coast

brucem is on this med too. i had to go on procrit for same reason...sorry to say, but it kicked my butt more than tx....i hope it works for you hon. xo

I was put on Neupogen 3 weeks into treatment, Im now on week 10 having to do 2 Neupogen injections a week. This stuff makes me tired, and just like tattman said, this stuff makes me feel weird. It's kicking my ass but the bottom line is ya gotta do what ya gotta do, hang in there man, Im sure like everything else, we all have a different reaction.

I was on neupagin and procrit as well. Make sure you take in x calcium for your bones, those shots play havoc on your bones. I made sure the shot was room temp first of all..cold shots give you more sides, secondly dead sea salt baths take the achy pain away. Really take care of yourself while you are on this med. It pulls from your bone marrow and can cause permantent problems like RA. I was on those shots for 8 months. If you need any help message me. Take care of you. Love Ya

Great post Dave-I knew ya was put on it and shocked so fast after tx start too...I'm waiting on today's blood tests to find out if I need it too...so info very helpful....

Also anyone know what they do for thyroid problems...doc thinks that also or may be part of my exhaustion????

Yikes! I had to do both the neop as well as the proquit and I'm sorry to tell you they kicked my butt all the way to bed. Yucky stuff...Sorry, just being honest. Good luck and keep us posted.
