Verapamil (brand names: Isoptin, Verelan, Calan, Bosoptin) is an L-type calcium channel blocker. It has been used in the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, cardiac arrhythmia, and most recently, headaches. It's working guess?? The Dr. gave me this med so that my vessels in the brain do not go into spasms and contrict blood flow !!!! At this point I just took the meds. and said whatever!!!
