(also known as Thyrax, Euthyrox, Levaxin, Eltroxin, Levothyroxine, L-thyroxine, Synthetic T4, Levothroid, Levoxyl)
Levothyroxine is a synthetic form of thyroxine (thyroid hormone). As the hormone is chemically in the L-form (instead of D, see chirality), it is metabolised much slower than physiological thyroid hormone, which has a shorter half-life. more at Wikipedia

Working / Worked
It works, I guess. I'm on 2.5 mcg. I've been told that's a high dose but I don't understand how? I've had lumps but the endo says they are gone now. My dosage hasn't been chagned.
Working / Worked
I use unithroid. I love it.
Working / Worked
I don't know. No bad side effects... but I am not seeing a boost in energy or any weight loss. I know if I skip it , I cannot get out of bed.
Working / Worked
It works I just think they need to up my dosage
Working / Worked
It works but have to have adjusted often.
Working / Worked
Its working. They started me at .25 and now I am at 100. I have engery and feel like me again
Working / Worked
I went from the lowest dosage .25 to 100 and it seems to be working. I have engery and am starting to lose some weight. I feel like me again.
Working / Worked
No side effects, I feel no different. Taking one pill/ day-50mcg. My levels have now normalized and we are actively trying.
Working / Worked
working great
Working / Worked
I have not really noticed anything bad, but when my dosage is wrong, my "crazy lady" meds also need adjusting.
Working / Worked
Does increase heartrate, and appetite, does allow me to work full shifts at work, and still have time to do all the things a woman needs to do when I get home. I also had to join the gym to counteract the increased calories I was getting. Does the trick!
Working / Worked
I have little side effects. More energy than I have had in a very long time. It also increased my appetite, so I need to work out more to counter the extra calories I have been consuming. Brought my thyroid into a good range to achieve and maintain a pregnancy. I had "normal" test results my entire life, but still felt bad. I finally found a wonderful doc that said, "If it walks, talks, and acts like a duck, it's a duck." I was open to synthroid just to feel better, and get back to ttc.
Working / Worked
Working, still not right dosage, but due to gastric bypass which will be messed up until my weight levels out.
Working / Worked
Most the time it works very well.
Working / Worked
I think that going aggressive with a total removal and radioactive iodine treatment was the right thing to do for me at 37 when I was diagnosed. My annual scans have come up clean each year.
