I would say one of the best weight loss methods you could try and fantastic for improving fitness.

Great workout and also great stress reliever, but hard on the knees and hips when you have lots of extra weight. Bosoms are a problem, too (BoingyBoingy)
I run/walked a marathon last summer. Training for it was hard on me, but I finished in just over 6 hours. The training and marathon did NOT make me lose weight, as I had to eat much more to keep up the energy to train.
