daily part of our lives we are hoping he can apply skills to the outside world
He's only 8, so there's not yet a lot of independence in many areas, really. We're are slowly incorporating things that require more independence and he's keeping up.
he wiil not go play on his own or sit down long enough to watch any educational programs.
We are going to look at a group home this week for him to live starting in January. Also, he's planning on getting a degree(made for young adults with DD)in Life Skills
She can't concentrate long enough to learn a skill

I WANNA MAKE IT WORK, DAHNIT!!!
Graaaa!! I really am trying, people, I really am...*exhaustive sigh*....gorram parental units get in the way sometimes....
I can't get my son to take care of his personal hygene needs without having to constantly be on his back about it. He likes to cook for himself, but not very healthy unless you call a hot dog on bread with melted cheese, mustard, and peanut butter nuked in the microwave for 2 minutes healthy. He doesn't keep his area cleaned and he constantly argues with me if I tell him to do something.
With his OCD it was not beneficial for him.
We tried a sheltered workshop but that didn't work.
