Had the IV while in the hospital
In-hospital IV drip for 6 days. INR was 1.1 upon release.
Did it's job while in the hospital
They put me on a low dose heparin drip from a catheter inserted into my main blood clot (which they accessed from a vein in my groin). This was part of an experimental procedure I participated in to remove the blood clots. The procedure was successful moving my left leg from being 80% occluded/blocked to 10% occluded/blocked after the procedure.
I was switched to twice daily heparin injections at about 7 months pregnant.
