I forgive him, because I love him, but, the forgetting part is a hard one. He makes it easier when I see that he is working very hard to make things better between us.

Everytime that he hurts me he convinces me that it was all my fault because of the way that I act when we drink together. I agree and forgive him every time, even when after the incident I say I never want to talk to him again.

Forgiveness has made all the difference. I can honestly say I have forgiven my mother and a lot of the physical abuse from my earlier childhood. That is not to say I don't have to do this over and over, as I find it is in layers and just when I think I have it licked, something will trigger yet another thing I have to work on and turn over to God.
