Copaxone

(also known as Glatiramer)

Glatiramer acetate is used in the treatment of the relapsing-remitting form of multiple sclerosis (MS). This medicine will not cure MS, but may extend the time between relapses.

This medicine is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Began to take it on the diagnose, on Aug 2004. It seamed to work for almost 4 years, I had nearly 2 relapses a year, but I always recovered. I had to stop because lypoatrophy on injection sites.

After about 7 month on Copaxone, it seems to be much easier to handle the shots and the side effects. My pain in getting the shots is under control, and mostly manageable. I have a neuro appt in Nov so we will see hwo the Copaxone is working then.
