I took Atenolol daily until I had the EP study, and I did not pass out once while on it. I did still experience SVT symptoms.

This has really worked to regulate my fluttering heartbeat. I've not had a repeat episode of my heart wanting to jump out of my chest (e.g. beating in excess of 120 bpm). Per my cardiologist, a beta-blocker is effective in treating anxiety in addition to atrial tachycardia and I've found that to be a correct assertion.
