Take one day at a time and be patience with yourself. You are not alone . . .
I started smoking at 14, quit at 29, started back at 35. The first time I quit was when I was hospitalized for meningitis for 2 weeks. Since I'd gone that long, I got the patches and Wellbutrin and quit for good (I thought). I started smoking again on September 16, 2004 when my home and business were destroyed by a hurricane. It was an excuse at the time to start back but still just a stupid excuse. I am 38 now and feeling the effects of my age more than I think I should. It's time.
I have been a pothead for 25 years. In the past two years there have been about ten days that I didn't burn. Since my first child arrived in 1999, I usually only smoke at night after the kids are in bed. My favorite relaxation is sit on the back deck, smoke a bowl or two, then read or surf the web for a few hours. The problem is that I am seldom in bed before 12 or 1 am and then I'm dragging ass the next morning when I get up at 6 am.
