Today was all-out Grammy time!! Or, I should say, "Moira time". The time I missed with my grandbaby on Saturday while at the yard sale, I made up big time today! Started out of here at 9:30, picked her up at daycare and took her to the library for Mother Goose Storytime. She lasted a whole five minutes! Two-and-a-half, you know. From there we went home, went to the back yard, swung in the hammock a while, then down to the playground. Gramps came down and met us at the commmunity gazebo where we were playing tag. Teaching her the concept of "base" and that she is "safe" when she clings to the hand rail I designated. Gary told me my Pulmonary Doc called to, once again, jot down all the sleep meds I've been on and why none of them work out for me (geez, even Gary knew what to tell him!) so maybe he'll get my insurance to approve the Sonata now. We'll see.
Anyway, back to grandbaby. We ate a little lunch, argued, whined and cried about nap time and which bed to take it in, then once her head hit the pillow -- BAM! -- she was out for the count, a solid two hours!! Had a little snack at 4, then went outside again. I knew once she saw the pool was open, there was no talking her out of swimming. She's a daredevil, and I knew if I didn't get a suit on her and some swim apparel around her, she'd dive in in a heartbeat! I convinced her that Grammy didn't need to suit up, that she could just ride in her boat, while Grammy pulled the rope around and around the pool. She had fun for about an hour and a half.
Then Grammy got really hungry and talked her into going to get something to eat. Gramps and her daddy went fishing, so it was Girls' Night Out! We went down to the river and got a fish sandwich and fries, feeding most of the fries to the local birds. Then we walked down to the ice cream parlor and got "pink" ice cream, of which she took one bite and said "that's too cold!" Well, it is ice cream. Kind of wouldn't be the same if it were warm! Into the trash it went, and then off to yet another playground across the street!
By now it's 7pm and I promised her dad she'd be out of the bath when he came to pick her up at 8! Two slides down and I whisked her away while she wimpered (poor baby) and I got her into the bath at 7:30. Many cups of "tea" later (her tea set is in the tub), I was towel-drying her hair and she was playing with the baby lotion when dad got there. Of course, she didn't want to go home. I hated that for Garrett, because he had such a long day already. My DIL is out-of-town and the marriage has gone from bad to worse, so he didn't need a crying child as he drove away, but I guess that's life.
Tomorrow I will probably not even be able to get out of bed, having lifted and carried 35 lbs. around all day! But it was worth it. I figure I'll recupe for 24 hours and take on the zoo on Thursday!! Guess that's life too!
Love, kisses & hugs ....
Rhonda :)

I so envy you Rhonda....how I wish I could see Madison and Brain more. They're in a whole different state!!! Good grief, I miss holding them.
Well, you were hoping you'd both get a nap in, wonder whether you slept or not???
You're probably exhausted now, but pleased as punch that you had this wonderful, special day in the pool with Moira.
God bless, aren't these kids just little angels????
