It is hard to believe tht I haven't written a journal entry in almost two weeks. I know I am beginning to sound like a broken record but I have been so extremely busy these last two weeks. It is good in that my sub-teaching provides badly needed income. It is not so good in that my congregational duties have been neglected somewhat. But  the end of the school year is only ten days away so things will slow considerably soon.

That said, if I haven't responded to your message or hug recently it is not because I don't care or appreciate them. I love all of you and care very deeply for each one of my brothers and sisters here on DS. Bear with me my friends.

To all of you wonderful mommys, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!! I hope and pray that you are all having a blessed Lord's Day on this special day for you.

My sermon today is concerning trials and tribulations that we face. In our congregation this past two weeks we have had an expectant mom miscarry, the suicide of a member's boss, the grandfather of one elder fall and hurt himself seriously, the death of a premature twin baby, and several other minor crisis's. Add to those personal  issues all of the turmoil in the world such as the cyclone in Myanmar, and the economic problems we are facing in this nation. It seemed like  a good time to remind people from where we must get our strength and in the grand scheme of our eternal lives all of these seemingly overwhelming problems are nothing. Our focus must be on and remain on serving the Lord in all that we do. Additionally we as the Church are God's eyes, hands and ears meant to reach out during those times of crisis and lift one another up, by providing comfort and healing, assistance and reassurance. If we fail to do that then we are failing in our mission.

That is the very abbreviated version of the message today. I usually do a Mother's Day sermon but with all of the negative things over the last week I felt moved in this direction.

Gotta run. I pray you are all well and staying strong in the Lord. We love you.
