Unexpected and Amazing surprises Mood

Every once in a while, I will be either amazed or delighted by something unexpected. Here are 2 recent examples;

Satellite radio has been around for a few years now and I remember thinking when it first came out, why would anyone pay for something that is so readily available free.

My sister Holly has it in her car and she has enjoyed it. I just couldn't see the reason to pay for it...until recently.

lisa and I bought our first new car in 20 years. It came with all the bells and whistles that I have never had on any of my cars. One of those bells was satellite radio, it came with 3 free months of service.

I am now a satellite radio junky. I get it. I understand why people pay for it, it's one of the greatest things to come along since sliced bread!  We went to New Jersey a couple of months ago. the ride there and back was much more enjoyable and seemed a lot shorter than in trips past. I give the credit to the satellite radio. In the past, we were constantly tuning in new stations, or had to drag 300 or so cd's with us. Satellite radio takes away all that hassle. Hundreds of stations that carry every conceivable kind of music, all come in crystal clear and most have no commercial interruptions. They have music from movies, from every decade going all the way back to the 40's. Talk radio, news, entertainment, comedy. I love it. There are 2 companies out there (which will probably merge in the future). We have XM and I will never go back to ordinary radio. An added bonus is I can get it on the computer for no add'l charge.

One of my favorite programs in the 80's was American Top 40 with Casey Kasem, well guess what? They have that too!

Second recent delight;

I never watched Everybody Loves Raymond during it's primetime run. I thought the Robert character's voice was annoying, so i never watched.

Recently Lisa has been taping episodes and I've been watching them with her. i never knew the series took place on Long Island (where I grew up) and since watching a few episodes, I'm now hooked. The episode I saw last night made me laugh hysterically. Robert was dating a new girl, ray had them over for dinner and saw the new girlfriend eat a fly. The look on ray's face (the only one who saw it) was priceless. Now I can't wait to get the series on DVD.

We have collected (and are collecting) several tv shows on DVD including MASH, The Waltons, All in the Family and now I love Lucy.

What are your favorite shows?

    I love "Everybody loves Raymond." I love watching the reruns. Every one of the cast is perfect for the role that they play. I saw the episode that you are talking about. Robert ended up sneaking out of "fly woman's" window to get away, as her room was filled with frogs. LOL. We have a new Toyota and I don't think we have satellite radio. We usually listen to books on tape when we travel long distances. Have a good evening with Miss Lisa. Grace to you..b

    Byran - Isn't interesting how we do not appreciate things until we take the time to enjoy them. For example, I have two hundred pictures of myself in very touching poses -- well they are not of me touching - but touching to the heart. I do not think I have ever offered to share them with you and Lisa!
