A WONDERFUL DAY. Mood
Saturday, August 16, 2008 | A Funny story

Well, this is ol'grumpy, Sue's hubby.

Our day started out at 6:04 AM when we realized that we overslept. (We wanted to be up at 5:30 AM). We hustled to get dressed etc, and get going. We left the house around 6:50 AM and took off to meet Sue's brother to pay him the money we owed him and sign off on Sue's mother's house. We had to meet him at 9:30 AM., no earlier or later.  Well, we got there at 9:24 AM., and found him on the front pourch waiting for us.  Since his sprinklers were running, and we had our morning showers, we opted to let him come to us and stayed in the car. He did so, only to take a direct hit fom one of the rainbirds lol. (He tried to run between two of them, and mistimed it). We gave him his check and he was pleased. We then took him to the bank to have the sign off noterized.  Well, the only person at the bank that could do that was not available. So that was a bust, except that we were able to pay him.

We then left there and went to visit with Sue's Son and Wife, being it was her birthday.  We gave her her gifts and  cake.  We told her not to let Sue's EX see the cake or it would be gone.  He reminds me of a vacuum cleaner when it comes to food.  He doesn't eat it, he inhales it!!!! (No joke, when it feeding time at their zoo, all you hear os a big WOOSH, and if you ain't quick, oh well better luck next time!!).  When we left there we still had about 2 1/2 hours to kill, so we went to see one of Sue's friends and spent time with them.

We then went to the hospital, and after finding the right location in the University hospital, checked in at 2:15 PM.  Her appointment was for 2:30 so we were OK that way.  Since they had an emergency we had to wait for an hour untill they brought her gown and wrap-around to her and gave her instuctions on how to dress in it.  Well, as luck would have it, she put the gown on backwards, having a 50-50 chance of getting it right, . . .oh, well need I say more.

After they corrected that problem they had us go to a waiting room.  After about 10 minutes the doctor and nurse came in and, in great detail, told and showed us what was to happen. Sue signed the necessary paperwork, and into the OR they took her.  After about 40 minutes, she was presented to me by the doctor saying the she did really good and the procedure went well.  Her only complaint was that her arm was numb.  Before she complained that it hurt,  sometimes you just cannot win can you? I'd rather have the numbness, then the pain, yes?  Well, we left the hospital, and going towards the freeway, we stopped to have a hamburger.  Then we jumped on I15 and headed south.  We got to Spanish Fork about 7:00 or so, and stopped to get gas.  After gassing the car, I moved from the pumps to a parking place so we could get something to drink.  After that we got into the car, and it WOULD NOT START. It cranked just fine, but would not start. After some people tried to help us, it was determined that the fuel pump in the tank had died. We located a towing company, with the help of the cashier at the service station, and got towed home, only to arrive there at 10:30PM. I must admit, that it was kind of nice having someone else do the driving. After relieving us of $285.50, the tow truck driver said thank you and departed. Well, I guess the first attempt and the last failed, with everything else going well, so why complain.  We have to get our mail and dog Saturday, so I guess it was an interesting day lol.

You guys sure had quite a day! PRAISE GOD anyway, is what I say....the enemy tries to steal your thunder and the victory, which is God's anyway. That's quite a day though. Thank GOD Sue's surgery went well and I will keep her in my prayers for a good, complete recovery. Glad you two made it home safe and sound. I will also pray that GOD will supply and meet all your needs through Christ Jesus in the meantime. God bless and keep the faith. Big Hugs to you both!
