Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI have been suffering with depression since I was in my mid twenties. I have been on many different medications in the past 7 years. Now I have a VNS implant and doing so much better.
Treatments
- Effexor Not Working
- I was put on this first. It worked for awhile. I found out that this drug was causing my migraines which were so severe that I was getting Botox injections for them.
- Psychotherapy Too Soon to Tell
- I had to change therapists because the one I was seening wasn't helping me much. It is too soon with my new therapist.
- Vagus nerve stimulation Working / Worked
- The implant is working wonders for me. My doctor is thinking about taking me off medication soon.
Close ADHD / ADD
My younger daughter has ADHD and so does my husband. My duaghter is 8 and was diagnosed at 6. I really didn't want to put her on medication, but it was that or have her keep struggling in school and at home.
Treatments
- Strattera Working / Worked
- My daughter has been on this medication for 2 years and it works very well for her. She had all A's on her report card this nine weeks.

I have always had a weight problem. I have problems exercising due to my size.

Open Migraine Headaches
I have had migraines since I was in my early teens. They became worse as I got older. I was taking an antidepressant that actually made me have migraines 3-4 a week if you can imagine that! I am off that medicine and now have them 1-2 a month. It is usually caused by my menstrual cycle. At one time I was on Topomax, Skelaxin, Vioxx, and receiving Botox injections.
Treatments
- Aspirin Not Working
- Asprin does Not do anything for me.
- Botulin Toxin Working / Worked
- I had these injections when I was having the migraines 3-4 times a week.
- Imitrex Not Working
- This didn't work for my type of migraine
- Maxalt Not Working
- Didn't work for my type of migraine. It also caused some problems with my heart rate.
- Topamax Working / Worked
- It helped with the migraines but I can no longer take it and the antidepressant that I am on.
