    • Close Fibromyalgia

Hello, new to this site. Have suffered from fibro ten years now. Would like to speak to folks with regards to symptoms and any recommendations that we might share.

      Treatments

      Aqua Therapy Working / Worked
This was wonderful. It was prescribed after I had been "rear ended" in my car while stopped at traffic light. Doctor sent me there for the whip lash but would not do it for fibro. Go figure......
      Cymbalta Working / Worked
While the Cymbalta did block pain reception to the brain, the side effects were awful. I felt like crying all the time.
      Effexor Not Working
      I felt like I was going 120 mph non-stop.
      Elavil Somewhat Helpful
Took the edge off but did nothing for the pain.
      Neurontin Not Working
Did not see much of a change. Drowsiness was a problem.
      Ultram Not Working
      No relief at all.
    • Close Breast Cancer
      Stage: IV (M1)

Am a ten year survivor. Looking to offer encouragement to others.

      Treatments

      Adriamycin Working / Worked
Was tough to get through but I did it! Lost hair almost immediately. Was okay the first few days after treatment. By third or fouth day I was totally out of it. Fatigued, loss of appetite.
      Chemotherapy Working / Worked
I know this saved my life. I had three treatments with adriamycin combined with two other drugs.
      Mastectomy Working / Worked
Surgery went very well. Had an excellent surgeon.
      Surgery Working / Worked
      Lumpectomy
    • Open Diverticulitis

Diagnosed with diverticulitis. Have been watching what I eat. Problems swallowing have developed. Started out as severe abdominal pain.

      Treatments

      Flagyl Working / Worked
It cleared the flare up nicely, no side effects.
    • Open GERD & Heartburn

Have been having severe pain in neck and shoulders. Tight in chest. Nauseated almost all the time. Experiencing difficulty swallowing. Food is "stuck" in my throat and slow to go down.

      Treatments

      Zantac Working / Worked
No side effects. Keeps stomach from rumbling and allows me to eat.
    • Open Chronic Pain

Diagnosed FM 1999. While I don't look sick, folks have a hard time believing a hug can be a trigger to more pain.

      Treatments

      Cymbalta Working / Worked
Made me feel like crying all the time. It did block the pain though. Made the fatigue worse.
      Heat Working / Worked
Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Same with ice.
      Lidoderm Working / Worked
Makes me nauseated but does help.
      Naproxen Working / Worked
      Allergic reaction.
      Nerve Blocks Working / Worked
Worked well but the doctor would not tell me what the injections were, what type of medicines. I know that it was a steroid that your body produces naturally. Made me irritable but were life savers.
      Neurontin Working / Worked
      Did not see a difference.
      Physical Therapy Working / Worked
Had great therapists but they went on to greener pastures. REally knew how to deal with fibro and stretching etc.
    • Open Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Diagnosed FM 1999. Chemo 1997. Never seemed to get level of energy back after chemo and then hammered by FM two years later.
