Close Endometriosis
I'm 27 years old and have had severe, debilitating pain during and around my periods for about 8 years. I always thought I was just a wuss. I wasn't. I was tentatively diagnosed in July (2007) and had my first lap in August. I have Stage 2 Endo and huge ovarian cyst problems. If I take enough Percocet, I can get through my periods, but my husband and I really want to get pregnant...this is our struggle.
Treatments
- Surgery Too Soon to Tell
- I had a laparoscopy about 2 weeks ago. The surgeon burned off all of the Endo he found, but I don't know if it has made a difference in my pain.
- Aygestin Too Soon to Tell
- I've been on Aygestin since my surgery. My doctor wants to stop my periods/ovulation long enough to heal from the reconstruction he had to do on my left ovary. Then, we'll start talking about fertility drugs in January 08.
Close Infertility
Type: EndometriosisMy husband and I have been ttc for about one year. In July (2007) I was diagnosed with Endometriosis and had a huge cyst that had basically taken over my left ovary. After a laparoscopy to drain the cyst and surgically reconstruct it, and burn off the endo, we are starting with Aygestin to give me time to heal. I think I'll probably be using Clomid to try again in January 2008.
Treatments
- Basal Thermometer Somewhat Helpful
- Helpful to find out when I'm ovulating, but it turns out, timing wasn't the problem.
- Aygestin Too Soon to Tell
- I'm currently taking Aygestin for treatment of Endometriosis and to stop ovulation/periods so it doesn't get worse while I heal from surgery. I'm looking forward to January when we can talk about Clomid/etc and start really trying again!
Open Diets & Weight Maintenance
I've been overweight as long as I can remember. But I was recently diagnosed with Endometriosis and Ovarian cysts. I'm trying to get pregnant, but I'm on a hormonal ovulation suppressing drug right now, so I have 4 months before we can start trying again. In that time, I'd like to lose 30-40 pounds to hopefully have a healthier pregnancy.
Treatments
- Physical Exercise Somewhat Helpful
- I walk with my niece (9mo) for about an hour every morning.
- Eat Less Somewhat Helpful
Open Migraine Headaches
I finally went to see a doctor about my horrible headaches. They hit completely randomly and leave me bedridden in a dark, quiet room for up to 24 hours at a time. He thinks it's Migraines, but because they are always on the same side, he's ordering a CAT scan for next week.
Treatments
- Excedrin Somewhat Helpful
- Excedrin Migraine used to help a little, but not enough.
- Midrin Working / Worked
- Only taken so far for one migraine, but it definitely helped. Although, I feel a little more nauseous now after taking them...and a little "hungover"
- Naproxen Not Working
- Took for years for headaches. Didn't touch them.
