I'm a recovering addict. I enjoy AA and NA meetings but don't get to as many as I should. Staying clean has become easier as time goes by and it may be due to the fact that my addiction was active only during the ages of 36 to 40. I contracted Fibromialgia. The wonderful (not) doc started me on 280 10mg vicodin a month. Crazy!! Thanks to God and my wonderful Husband and family I have had a great recovery. It helps that three of my siblings are in recovery. Life's Good! God's Great!! Brenda
Spending time with my Hubby, Children, Grandchildren and pets while Camping, Fishing, Cookouts, Travel (especially alone with hubby!), Country Music, Antiques, watching Sports outside and on TV and anything else that brings us all together. Also Singing, Planting outside, Spending time with Parents, Decorating, Arts/Crafts, Shopping, Writeing Personalized Poems for family and friends and Snuggling with my Hubby!! :)

Doctors..Ha!Before that we were a happy family and we were foster parents! Thanks to my Wonderful husband, family and ,of course, God, I have recovered. It is possible to live with pain without drugs. I'll be glad to share how with anyone. I love to chat so contact me anytime without hesitation! God's Speed, Brenda
Where do I begin. My son, Chase, was diagniosed with Retenitis Pigmentosa (RP) when he was 5. He is now a 17 year old Sr. who has wrestled for 11yrs. The devistation was unbearable until I change my thoughts to "They didn't tell me he was dieing". He would live and live he has! RP is progressive so at 6 he was legally blind but three years ago he lost it completly. He has been a handful through the years but we showed him the world as much as possable to store in his memories. God's good!
I just had a gastric bypass four weeks ago and am feeling great! Lost about 33+ lbs already. Was a long haul though, it took years to get it. We just happened to end up with the right insurance last year thanks to my hubby going to Kuwait. (military ins.) Took the last year to prep and get ins. approval. Would love to talk to others that have dealt with wieght loss strugles and have had or are going to have the surgery. Have a great day in the Lord! Brenda
My 17 year old son has RP. Was diagnosed at age 5 and he was legally blind then. He is now totally blind. He has anger issues, understandibly. See my profile for other personal info. Enjoy the day!
I'm not just an adult child of an alcoholic but a recovering addict as well..so strange to be able to see both sides of the coin! Wanted to join this community as I think it may be just as important as the addicts community for me. Love to help others when I can and absorb as much knowledge as possible to continue my growth in my journey. Can't wait for some corrispondence..love, peace and joy to you all! Brenda
I contracted, this very painful, Fibro after we lost our foster daughter to another adoptive family. I was devistaed. I had a nervous breakdown and was hospitolised for 5 days and then perscribed large amounts of narcotics resulting in my addiction. That lasted 4 1/2 years! Everyone around me was miserable. I started treatment 17 months ago. The first year I had a few slips but not since 5 months ago..by the grace of God, a wonderful husband and family that stood by me. Brenda
My gastric bypass was 5 weeks ago. I sailed through the surgery and recovery. The doc was very impressed. I thank God it all turned out well. Can't wait til next week to add my fruit and vegies. Really craving a salad with fresh srawberries. I'll just try the strawberries alone next week. No lettuce just yet. Hopr you enjoy your day! Brenda
My husband just made Chief in the U.S. Navy Reserves. I'm very very proud of him. Last July he went to Kuwait until last April. The first time I have ever been away from him. Was sooo awful. The induction process for making Chief was very long and hard on him and the family. It took all summer! I think he deserved it though and when the day came for me to pin his anchors on, it was the proudest day of my life!! I look forward to meeting this part of my military family in this community.
I was mntly and physcly abused as a child by my alcoholic Dad and by my first husbnd. My folks are married and ages 75. My Mom never left my Dad..I left my 1st hsbnd. No help years ago for Mom. It was just swept under the rug. My Dad was abused terribly by his Dad. He did do better with us kids. I think it gets better with each of our generations. I have a good relationship with my folks because I've forgiven. I saw my Father mellow with age and do better with each child. Good Grampa now too.
My marriage for the most part is a very good one. However, lately I feel he could live without having the time together I want so badly. He truly loves me to death and I him but things are just not the way I want them to be. I need more time together. He has been told over and over and he works so many hours. What the Hell? There is no question that we are totally faithful to eachother. I have no doubts about that. We went to counseling with the Pastor. Time will tell.
