    happily married, disabled, suffer from fibromyalgia,diabetes, neuropathy, depression, hypertension, passionate urge to take on everyone elses problems. unable to find the "slow down" button...until the higher power makes me. loves life, and i don't blame anybody for MY medical and psychological problems, i just need to find a balance!! hope to meet lots of friends that share the same.

      41.married.mother of twin sons 20 & son, 21, in army. disabled (too young) due to diabetes, bipolar, neuropathy, fibromyalgia, bulging disc, thyroid, hypertension, foot drop and god knows what the next thing they'll try to say. love to help other people. have worked with Red Cross, Boy Scouts on all levels, Boys & Girls Club, 4H, Civitan, VOSH, PTSA, Resident Council, and many other local agencies. Now I'm Lost and looking for something because I can't go more than an hour at a time.

      Treatments

      Adderall Not Working
      used for ADD. put me to sleep. ADD diagnosis was later questioned
      Cyclobenzaprine Working / Worked
      major help especially at night. the leg and back muscles loosen up and dont hurt as bad. no side effects
      Cymbalta Somewhat Helpful
      seems to work w/ mood and energy level mostly, but it might be one of those meds you don't notice until you don't have it.
      Elavil Somewhat Helpful
      worked okay for depression way before diagnosed with fibro. side effect: severe migraines
      Gabitril Not Working
      have been taking for neuropathy 3 yrs. still hurt. zero help pain in legs
      Lyrica Not Working
      didn't work and made me have extreme mood swings
      Neurontin Working / Worked
      works pretty well given in high doses. pain Dr. cut back Neurologist dosage to min level and pain level shot up. My neuropathy responds well to 3600mg a day.
      TENS Considering
      Ultram Too Soon to Tell
      Dr. slowly increasing levels and it seems to have some effect on moderate pain levels.
      Requip Working / Worked
      no side effects. BEST EVER for leg spasms and cramps at night.
      Melatonin Working / Worked
      Psychotherapy Too Soon to Tell
      Writing Somewhat Helpful
      lets me vent when I hurt or have a good day but also lets be track behavior that helps or hurts condition

      feels really good when in water. getting out legs were weak & jittery. will strengthen w time.

      dont know how well unless you took away all other meds
      Flexeril Working / Worked
      lifesaver!!! allows me to sleep when back locks up and legs spasm
      Heat Somewhat Helpful
      works on mild pain in combination with meds
      Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
      works ok on moderate pain
      Lidoderm Not Working
      neuropathy blocked feeling. no help at all pain not even minimized
      Lyrica Not Working
      caused mood swings. Dr pulled me from it
      Marijuana Not Working
      made me more aware of pain and paranoid
      Massage Working / Worked
      Husband massages out legs,arms, neck and shoulders and it makes all the difference in moving or not
      Meditation Somewhat Helpful
      helped calm me so pain didn't intensify w/stress. no side effects
      Naproxen Not Working
      works for a while bout would have to rotate it because body would get used to it. mild-mod pain only
      Neurontin Working / Worked
      works well for neuropathy pain in high doses but not for other types of pain. no side effects
      Oxycodone Working / Worked
      worked pretty well on moderate to severe pain but I was afraid of addiction.
      Psychotherapy Too Soon to Tell
      Topamax Working / Worked
      been on it 6 months don't notice any difference. no side effects
      Writing Somewhat Helpful
      Writing out pain is putting my voice to it and if I can give it a voice then I can maybe shut it up
      Requip Working / Worked
      No side effects, eliminated restless leg immediately (1st pill) I slept well
    • Open Diabetes Type 2

      diabetic 1989,neuropathy,gastroparesis,Fibromyalgia,Hypertension,Bipolar,back problems,insulin pump, basically falling apart at 41 and fighting for my life and family

      made me a zombie. never could get used to meds
      Writing Somewhat Helpful
      It helps me keep on track by keeping lists so I don't get ahead of myself. If I get frustrated I can vent on the pages rather than tearing up something, hitting someone or something, or making a public scene if I was mad enough to overcome my fear of making an ass of myself.
