About Me
Hello ~ I'm 42 with a 20 year old daughter and a 10 year old son. I'm happily married to a wonderful man, he is 36. I will also be a first time "grandma" in December, very excited! I was diagnosed with ulcerative proctitis about 9 years ago. I have been dealing with migraine/cluster headaches on a regular basis; extreme fatigue with no energy; my feet are always hurting along with my lower back, neck, shoulders and canker sores. I was told a month ago that my blood work was "normal" again so now they are telling me I have CFS ~ chronic fatigue syndrome.
Interests
I enjoy reading, walking, sewing, scrapbooking, spending time with family & friends and spending time alone. I work part-time at a grocery store in produce and I am also a cake decorator. We have also taken a liking to a little boy who has become a major part of all our lives. He started coming here the first week he was born and he now 2 1/2.

Close Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Was told about a month ago, after my blood work was "normal" again that I had chronic fatigue syndrome. I'm totally exhausted with no energy at all. I'm not sure I'm all right with the diagnoses because I don't understand it all yet. Where I live people don't understand or respect "this" either. In being a very active person I probably wouldn't tell anyone locally, that's why I'm doing this. I'm hoping to get help understanding, dealing and accepting my problems.
Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
I was diagnosed with ulcerative proctitis about 8 years ago. It was a long, lonely, depressing and scarry ordeal. In the beginning the 1st doctor started by telling me that my problem was in my head, 2nd doctor told me that it was hemorrhoids. Between the massive blood loss and all the mucus I could fill the toilet! I'm on my 4th doctor and still working on the problems.
Treatments
- Asacol Too Soon to Tell
- I started taking this about a month ago. I've just cut down because I've been constipated.
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Considering
- The only thing that sometimes bothers me is milk products ~ ice cream ~ love it!
- Colazal Somewhat Helpful
- I took this in the beginning, years ago.
- Asacol Working / Worked
- I used these in the beginning but I would rather take a pill than use a suppositories.
Open Migraine Headaches
I've been suffering from migraine/cluster headaches for the last 6-7 years. Sometimes I get a headache that will wake me up from sleep in the middle of the night. It's excruciating pain in the left, back of my head. I have to keep my head elevated or I get sick. Then sometimes I'll get a headache if I'm out in the bright sun or strong smells etc. The first headaches are the worst.
Treatments

- I would love to try this.
- Imitrex Not Working
- I didn't feel this worked too well either.
- Inderal Not Working
- I took this in the beginning, didn't work to well.
- Excedrin Working / Worked
- I take this but it's not good for my proctitis because of the asprin.
- Ice Pack Working / Worked
- I keep ice pads in the freezer at all times!
Open Menopause
The joys of womanhood! I started menopause at an early age due to the fact that I had a hysterectomy at the age of 32. I was ready for the surgery due to my female problems starting at the age of 22. Cancer cells on my cervix that was cut out & severe endometriosis with many surgeries. That's not including all the severe pain that goes along with it.

After my son was born my anxiety attacks seem to get worse. My husband even took me to the hospital one night because I thought I was having a heart attack!

- Hypnotherapy Not Working
- I tried with tapes but it didn't work. Must not have been in the "right state of mind".
- Paxil Working / Worked
- I took this in the beginning.
- Positive Thinking Working / Worked
- I thing everything is a state of mind and your world is what you make of it. That's why I take effexor to take the edge off and try to stay positive.
- Zoloft Not Working
- Did not like this drug at all!
Open Diets & Weight Maintenance
Story of my life ~ DIET! I have always struggled with my weight. I've tried numerous of diets, pills, you name it I've tried it. I was even a binge eater turn bulimic when I was a teen. Even though I don't vomit no more that urge never goes away and it's been 22 years ago. I've gained 40lbs. in the last 3 years. Part of it is my job and I m blaming the rest on the CFS?!

- I know a lot of people who takes this and it works for them but I think I've taken too many OVC pills that I'm immune to them??
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- I walk now, Love to Walk!
- Eat Less Working / Worked
- When I had my hysterectomy I lost 30lbs with walking and portion control.
- South Beach Diet Somewhat Helpful
- Too much like Atkins but with some fruit.
- Weight Watchers Somewhat Helpful
- The meetings were out of town and I got kicked out for missing too many meetings.
