we are only days away from entering the residential treatment hospital,he has been so anxious about taking ""the shower". he has put off till today, I  had to leave work early because he was having an anxiety attack about getting started.Well he is currently inthe shower, whether it will be adequate is beyond me. My plan is to stay available as much as I can to make it work. I know this is totally enabling him, but for now that's all I got. I am even washing sheets on a bed that he has not slept in for months, the sheets are completely clean but if it means he can sleep in his own bed tonight I will be very happy. I pray that whatever is going on inside his head that for tonight he can find some peace.  He needs to get into treatment and learn alternative ways of thinking and handling stress.  this house could use some peace. we have a black lab mix that we have had since he was an 8 week old puppy and he is so sensitive to the stress in the house, he is now 2 yr old and if anyone gets too loud he is trying to crawl up on mommy's lap which for a 75 pound dog is not easy. he is also the one to go upstairs and lay on my bed and be alone, he probably needs xanax and an ssri like the rest of us . I hope that all will be well tonight, altough I know it can also go the other way.
