This is hoping all is well with you! Have a great weekend. Hugs, Vicki
So glad you had a day without nausea... it will get better, you'll see. It took almost a month to the day before I could eat a meal without a horrible hot flash and vague nausea. I'm tolerating food really well. I've learned to eat small enough portions that I feel okay after eating... No nausea, and no pain. Sometimes I do get some wicked indigestion if I don't chew well. I'm learning by leaps and bounds! Slow weight loss, but steady. I'll take what I can! Big hug honey, Jessica
thanks for your input. i hope it will help me.
When I was really struggling that first month with feeling nauseated and really weak, I found that drinking the premade Adkins Shakes or Slim Fast Carb Control protein drinks really helped me stay energized and much less weak. I always eat about two or three bites of a new food, then wait at least half an hour to see if I'm going to dump or react. That has worked wonderfully for me...I have not had any episodes of vomiting at all, and have had no pain whatsoever since surgery. I'm really feeling pretty good and adding new foods all the time. Have you tried string cheese? Oatmeal? Creamed soups? Always introduce new foods for the first time while you're at home, that way, you don't end up dumping in some restaurant or at work and can't go lay down... I'm with you, girlfriend. One day at a time and we'll both get through this. write anytime.. Jessica
I had my surgery on August 1, 2007. I have already lost 25 pounds and am finally beginning to eat more of a variety of food. Are there any other teachers out there? I carry a water bottle around at school, but have trouble allowing 30+ minutes to eat lunch. Any suggestions?
