Gestational Diabetes Mood
Friday, November 21, 2008

So the results are offically in. I have GD. I am feeling better about it than I was oh, about two days ago. I was freaking out! I went to the diabetes specialists and she has me using the bloodsugar tester. So, I have to prick my finger four times a day and also count my carbs I am eating, which sucks because they are totally my comfort food!

I need to go walking more, but the weather has been crapy but I guess I have to tough it out.

So far its going good, even though I just offically started the bloodsugar pricker thing and carb counting today.

Anyway, I feel Joey moving around ALOT. I can stare at my belly and just watch it move in waves! LOL

Birth Center Mood
Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Lastnight hubby and I had a tour and oreintation of the Birth center at the hospital I will be giving birth at. I liked it alot actually. The birth center is not a floor in the hospital. Its its own building that links to the main floor in the rear incase you need to go into the actual hospital. I like how its not just a floor in the hospital. They treat it very differently. It was calm and quiet. There was alot of really nice nurses and people around.

The rooms were huge. The one we went into was one that wasnt renavated yet but it was still really nice! The whole birthing center is getting a make over I guess you could say. But they make it very personal for each and everyones experince and stay there.

Being there put things more into a reality check I guess. I got a little scared! Joe tells me not to worry. I am not. I am just scared. Pushing out a baby out my vajayjay is just different! LOL Anyway. After the baby is born and I am not in labor I can have visitors. The rooms hold like 25 people sooo I think that will work! HAHA! Anyway, I am 19 weeks now. Almost to the half way mark. And I go to the doc monday to do a gulose test and what not and that is when my doc will set up an apt to get another ultrasound to fhind out the sex of the baby and such! Hang in there everyone! We will know soon! :) I want a girl soooooo badly!

Air National Guard Mood
Sunday, September 7, 2008

Joe has made a decision to join the Air National Guard. I am very excited for him and very proud of him. I am anyway, but taking a huge leap like that is wonderful.

Two years ago, I wasnt too excited about him looking into being in the Army. We knew where he would go, and so did he and he didnt want that (us not even being married yet).

We wont have to move. The base he will be part of is in Portland but twice a week he will have to go to the coast where the fort is where he will have to do drill and training. Two weeks of the year he will be gone for the same thing. He will be getting a steady job after he finishes his techincal school training which can last from 7-18 weeks depending what he is going to school for. And that isnt in Portland, but I will have to stay here :(. i am sad about that, but at least he wont be in Iraq!!! But I have loads of friends and my family will be supportive and make sure I am okay and not lonley during that time! Hopefully he will go before I have the baby. I am supporting him 100% in this choice and its a good one.

Air National Guard is a branch of Air Force. I am excited he chose this because my brother Jon was a second sgt and retired after 23 years of service in the Air Force. Joe is a smart cookie and he will get far!  First he needs to get a bit more fit which will only take like a month or two. But in the mean time he has to take a test ASFAB or something. When he took it two years ago, he was 4 points away from a perfect score. I think people dont realize how smart he is! he will beable to do whatever he wants!
