    • Close Smoking Addiction & Recovery

Hi! My name is Barb. I am a 40 YO female, married, one child who is almost 18. I have been smoking a little more than a pack per day for about 20 years. I am trying to quit. I really need some support!!! This place is amazing...I am so thankful for it!!

      Treatments

      Chantix Considering
Haven't done this yet - next step if patch doesn't work
      Cold Turkey Not Working
Unfortunately this is where I am right now. Can't use the patch, gum or other supplements now for the next 28 days before surgery...STRUGGLING!!
      Commit Lozenge Not Working
      HATE the taste!
      Nicotine Gum Working / Worked
This was a good option. Unfortunately not allowed to use it right now.
      Nicotine Patch Not Working
I have pitched these in favour of the gum!
      Wellbutrin Somewhat Helpful
Dr. Put me back on this now since I have to go "cold turkey" from all nicotine replacements after only 1 week...
      Willpower Not Working
      Trying, trying....Lord help me!!!
    • Close Asthma
      Type: Other

I've had asthma all my life, mostly allergen-activated, but also in my younger years was activated by exercise. I have been in control for years, in spite of being a smoker...but I just found this website and would like to be a part of this group.

      Treatments

      Advair Working / Worked
Been on this for about 5 years, works great
      Albuterol Somewhat Helpful
It worked great until they changed to the HFA formula. I don't think it works as well.
      Azmacort Working / Worked
Was on this for years before Advair. Worked pretty well, though inconvenient (16 puffs a day!)
      Duoneb Working / Worked
This works great for severe exacerbations during illnesses such as pneumonia
      Combivent Working / Worked
I use this for pre-exercise and it works great.
    • Open Diets & Weight Maintenance

I had been heavy from about age 22 until last year. I have tried so many of the diets on the market, and finally found something that has changed my life completely. I lost 60 pounds from 8/10/06 to 04/24/07, and I have maintained since.

      Treatments

      NutriSystem Working / Worked
This is my miracle!!!! It has changed my life. Now it is a WAY OF LIFE for me.
    • Open Plastic Surgery

I have had a BA in 2005, and am now awaiting my full TT/MR/BB reconstruction. I should be having surgery in September. My consult is one week away!

    • Open Raynaud's Disease

I've had this condition for several years, but it seemed pretty under control until the last few weeks. I'm experiencing more and more symptoms.

    • Open Chronic Pain

I've had pain issues over the past 20 years...due to several accidents, surgeries, and stress, as well as my job mechanics...I'm trying to deal with it mostly on my own now...it's hard....

      Treatments

      Chiropractic Adjustment Somewhat Helpful
Some hurt me, some don't. I have a D.O. now who does gentle OMD. It seems to help some.
      Flexeril Working / Worked
Worked great, doc won't let me have it long-term.
      Hydrocodone Working / Worked
Works great for exacerbations. It's been a while tho since I've been on this.
      Voltaren Working / Worked
Works fairly well for the long-term.
      Robaxin Working / Worked
Works great, again I'm not allowed to have it long-term...but for exacerbations.
    • Open Families & Friends Affected By Suicide

I lost my father in law, then my ex-husband to suicide. Father in law was definitely intentional....ex-husband was more accidental overdose. Either way, they both left this world too young. I'm still dealing with the effects of losing my ex-father-in-law, to whom I was very very close.
