Close Thyroid Cancer
Type: Follicular CarcinomaI had a thyroidectomy and a sternumectomy - already did RAI, still feel bad all the time. 9 months and counting
Treatments
- Cytomel Working / Worked
- Radiotherapy Working / Worked
- Cytomel Somewhat Helpful
- I hated the cytomel, but it was better than nothing!
- Radiotherapy Too Soon to Tell
- I was throwing up and just slept for 3 days - felt like crap for 2 more, worst part: had to be away from my baby for 7 days. He came home on Mother's day, thoug! Don't know what it did to help me yet, but I hope it worked for all it put me through!

- I have found that if I at least walk an eat fresh fruits and vegis, I do better.
- Meditation Working / Worked
- I have found that if I make myself find time to meditate every day, my life in general, as well as my stress level is much easier to deal with.
Open Parenting Newborns & Infants (0-1)
I am the mother of a 10 month old son, I'm 32 and have a lot of unusual circumstances - I found out I had cancer right after he was born, I've had 2 surgeries and radiation since then and I'm waiting to find out if I need more surgery. Because of my health problems, I had to quit breast feeding after only 1 month which bummed me out! I am a stay at home mom, but my husband works 7 days a week, 15 hours a day, so I feel like a single mom sometimes.
Treatments
- Breast Feeding Working / Worked
- I loved it, but had to quit after the first month due to my health problems. We did have a hard time getting started because he couldn't suck at first, but after that first weak it was great. The only problem for me was that he was eating every 2 hours, so going anywhere was insane! If we went to the mall, I fed before, then by the time we got there and inside, I was searching for a mommy's room already!

- I'm trying to gain more of it!
