It has been clearly found that she contracted C. Difficile while in the rehab hospital. We have recieved her records and I as weel as my mom have read through them with a fine tooth comb. We are all conteplating a malpractice suit -wronful death.
I am very angry that this happened to her angry at the dr's(rehab) for not telling the family what was going on they said it was just diareah. F**k them. Mom went there the otheday and gave them a piece of her mind. the doc did not even know my grandmother had died NOR did he admit as to why she did.
Please keep myself and my family in your prayers

My Grandmother died on april 17, 2008. I miss her with all of my heart. I am currently still living in her house. We are all working on gettng her things cleaned out as well as mine for me to move and for the house to go on the market.
She came hame from the rehab hospital in march. Somehow either at the hospital or rehab hospital she contracted an infection called C. Difficile. She went back into the hospital maybe 2 weeks after coming home. they immediatly put her on antibotics which did NO good. The following Sunday she was moved to ccu because her heart was racing and they shocked it back to normal rythem. She then had surgery to remove her colon as a last stitch effort to get rid of this illness. Followiing the surgery she continued going downhill. She was kept in ccu for a few more days and then moved to a privat room so the family could have more time to be with her.
We moved her to hospice april 15 she died early morning on april 17.
I am sharing this very personal experience in hopes that everyone will becareful when at a hospital or nursing home or rehab hospital. The doctors have basically said antibots will increase your chanse of c. difficile. she also had a touch of MRSA.
If anyone has any questions or wants to talk to me I am open to share more and answer questions.
Hugs
