So I thought I'd announce that Emily and I are seriously considering a puppy. We have a toss up between a Welsh Springer Spaniel, English Springer Spaniel, or a Lab. We're not sure which yet. We want a dog that's good with kids, protective and watchful, has a good temperment, socialble, nice, and most of all CALM and can live in an apartment for a while. We also need a dog that when it's six or seven we can introduce it to a baby and it'll be ok and won't be a problem. Also it'll need to be good with other pets especially big dogs, because Emily and I plan to get a Mastiff when we get our first house together. We're planning on getting a puppy on our 1 year anniversary or for our first christmas. I'm kinda excited. We want to get a puppy not adopt an adult unless it is exactly what we want. I want to raise it as a puppy so I can send it to obdiency school, teach it that Emily and I are (or just me) are the ones in control, teach it to be protective and to keep an eye out, and also so I can socialize it early with other people and kids, basically the younger I can get a dog the better cause I can train it to be what we need. I want a dog that, no matter its size or demeaner to most people, will step up and attack when someone threatens my kids or Emily when I'm not there or can't do anything. Basically I want a dog version of me.

So does anyone know alot about these breeds or know of any other puppies that fit my description? Oh and it HAS TO BE CUTE when its a puppy and as a dog. I don't want an ugly ass freaking dog.
