Saturday night comes again and I feel horrible. Maybe its not hormones, myabe I'm just totally screwed up. I know I …
For many of you, this might not be a big event, but other than my dentist and one visit to a cardiologist, i've been mostly absent from the medical community for a fair while.
So, yes, I'll be heading to an orthpedist (is that right?) to look at my ankle on Weds. While I'm there, I'll be asking about my oddly painful big toe and maybe even my back (do orthpedists do backs? myabe not.)
anyway, stay tuned. I've been warned that they actually won't have much more me...some ice and some advice...so i'll keep expectations low.
i really would like to go running again. it relieves my stress, and i can feel my weight returning. funny how i eat healthier when i'm exercising...
Oh, by the way, you may notice my new picture. Looks pretty introspective, eh? Well...full disclosure: A fellow DS employee took that pic of me, as I needed something in a pinch for a conference I'm going to. So I stood against a wall, regretted the fact that I haven't shaved in a week, looked out the window because I have a knack for squinting when I smile, and I can't fake smiling anyway. I will also give full disclosure - my friend apparently is a bit of a photoshop expert, as I think it's been, err, touched a bit. Wasn't something I asked for, but the results...well, shit, it does remove the deep pits which usually surround my eyes. Next up - a facelift and buttock firming.

Doug ~ As always, what a ray of sunshine! Hey, glad to see your are going to see an orthopedist and while they usually specialize in one area of the body, i.e knee versus back versus shoulder, they can address your questions. Personally, will feel much better when the orthopedist makes the determination for you as to whether ice and anti-inflammatory agents are all that is needed right now or not ... will at least provide some peace of mind and I'll anxiously be awaiting the outcome.
As for the pic, it's great!!! Actually quite handsome and you can see your thinning physique! Well done!!! Think running and exercise definitely suit you. Think perhaps I need to hook up with your friend for some "new you" pics! Hope you enjoyed the conference; if you enjoy it half as much as I enjoyed San Diego, you had a ball!
By the way, you've inspired me to walk/run a half marathon in October ... if I can get over my surgical set back and get the doctor to release me! Know how frustrating it is and will offer the advice a very good DS friend gave me ... "I'm sure this is God's way of telling you to slow down and allow yourself to heal." Personally, I feel it is also a way to teach us patience ... I have to keep being reminded of this one; we motivated ones tends to want to move quickly to not allow grass to grow under our feet. Think perhaps we're supposed to stop and watch it grow, and see the bugs and the flowers and hear the birds and the sounds of nature. Hope that helps while you recuperate and wish you a speedy recovery. Please post an update once you hear from the orthopedist.
Take special care; keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Caring hug ... be brave and go forth grasshopper ... (are you too young to remember that show????)
Many hugs .. Ranae

Good luck with your ankle, toe, back and buttock lift. I have just the doctor for that last procedure :). You should talk to Matt and go his physical therapy/training place... they'll fix you right up!
