About Me
I'm 53, work as a paralegal, overweight with Type II and getting depressed. I love animals, my garden, reading, old movies. I've been married for 25 years to a very patient man. I'm trying to connect with some people with this disease so I can get some ideas about how to deal with it. I've had it for years, but can't seem to get off the fence on dealing with it.

Hi Ruby, I saw your post on the mirapex question on the RLS group. Sounds like we may be in same group. I'm curious what narcotic are you taking, how much, and for how long. Do you find yourself having to increase dose and then having to take it just because of the physical withdrawl symptoms. I fought for years against it as I am recovering alcoholic, but it got to point where I was getting 10-15 hours of sleep per week and was at my wits end. I had to do something or check out Interested in your experience. Reed
Good Luck
Hi rubystar, I can relate to the depression, restless legs, anxiety, plus a few others but there is no one medication to take for any one or two of these symptoms without giving me more conditions to deal with. However and I know this sounds silly but I found having a banana a day and raw tomato often are very good replacements for the potassium I needed biquinate of sulphur for. This biquinate is what elderly bedbound patients are given for cramping and when this Indian doctor saw I was taking it he threw them in the bin and wrote "Eat banana, raw tomato and get well". It worked for the legs to a great degree. Only on over-exersion days do I suffer like I used to every single night before. Good luck, AnneH

Close Diabetes Type 2
I was diagnosed sort of by mistake. My doctor told me one day that I was diabetic --no warning. I think he just hadn't been paying attention. I take a ton of medication and most days I'd just rather not bother, but I do.
Treatments
Close Restless Legs Syndrome
I have primary RLS, 5-7 episodes a week. I get it during the day, evening -- just about anytime. I also get it in my arms.
Treatments
- Clonazepam Working / Worked
- I took Requip for some time and it made me nauseated to I had to stop. The Clonazepam works well but I get a bit of a hangover from it.
