We went downtown today to see the chiropractor, it felt good to get adjusted. Kristen got worked on to and I'm hoping that she will see some relief her neck, back and hips were out of place. After we got done at the docs office we walked over to the Berghoff resturant. They had been in business for over a hundred years and closed two years ago. However, the cafe and bar were supposed to remain open - well don't know why but the resturant is still open. So we had a nice lunch but it wasn't traditional German fare which is really the only reason I would choose to eat there. After lunch we walked over to grant park. They have a reflecting pool between to glass walls that "rain" water and kids and anyone can run around splash. So Kristen and Ashley chased each other around and got totally wet. I got some great pictures on my phone camera - I was going to down load on the puter and put in some pics for you all but guess what else I did? I lost my phone, sheeeesssshhhhh! I just got it replaced from leaving it in the rain! Now I lose it!!! It costs $50 to replace it - that's my "copay" I have insurance - I pay $7 a month for that. I'm not sure what I'm going to do - I really can't afford another $50 and there's no guarentee I'll be able to keep track of it! Yikes!

So after the splash fest we headed to the EL train, road that home and took a bus the final leg of the journey - lost my phone somewhere in there. We left the car at home and had Bob drop us off downtown because it would have cost about $30 to park. Course hindsight tells me that $30 is cheaper than $50 to replace my phone! Well as my mother used to say in her mock German accent, "too soon old and too late schmart!"

I cannot believe you lost your phone! You just got it replaced. MAybe someone will return it. Can you call your carrier to see if they can track it, if that is even possible? Glad you had a nice day. Guess Ashley is feeling beter, since she tagged along with you two. ((hugs))marcia

Sounds like a vunderful day (hehe). We LOVE the Berghoff! 4 years ago my cousin in Chicago hosted the family reunion we have every 2 years. We ate at the Berghoff Friday night of the reunion, then Saturday we took a cruise on the river in Chicago, then had a pavilion rented at the park, and spent the day catching up and using one of the baseball diamonds all day; even some of us oldsters played ball. It was a fantastic day and we just love the Windy City!I didn't realize you lived in Chicago. My hubbie worked out of town there for a few years so every week he would either drive home or I would go there. I'm glad that the chiro made you feel better but so sad to hear about your phone. I've got some silly cell phone stories I could tell you but I need to get off to bed. Its been a really tiring week and the son and I have to go shopping in the am for stuff he needs; he's moving back to college at the end of the week. Good old Mom! Sweet dreams.

try calling your own number and see if anyone answers it. if not be sure to cancel. the day sounded wonderful .. hope you can find the phone. who knows with cells. probably not a chance. lol (our city).. gone .. hugs and have a good saturday.

sorry to hear about your phone... but it does sound like it was a wonderful day. got your mesaage about the other number an dhav written it down. I saw a girl last night that looked alot like kristen. It is soonnnnn for me to come to the big city!!!!!!hugs, deby

Bummer about the phone - try calling to see if there are any deals, though. Sometimes, if you're willng to extend the contract they'll give you a free one. Hugs, Lisa
