Hugs back. sorry for my late response. My wife I did have my tyriod checked. It did grow and also spread to the other side. With all that is going on in my life the doctors requested a re-visit in 3 months. Hugs to you and hang in there. Tom

Close Thyroid Cancer
Type: Papillary CarcinomaI had my thryoid removed in '98, one radiation treatment. Have been on Synthroid since.
Treatments
- Synthroid Working / Worked
- Had been kept hyperthryoid since '98 and always felt hyper. Now am being readjusted to a normal thryoid level, but still feel like crap!
Close Chronic Pain
I have had chronic nerve pain since '98,due to peripheral neuropathy. I have it in my feet, right leg and right hip.I also have chronic fatigue.
Treatments
- Chiropractic Adjustment Not Working
- I went to a wonderful chiropracter for several treatments shortly after my pain started, it didn't help.
- Cymbalta Not Working
- This caused me to have hyperthryoidism, had to quit taking it.
- Flexeril Somewhat Helpful
- Took this for a yr after my pain started.
- Heat Working / Worked
- This does help.
- Acupuncture Not Working
- I think it didn't work bc I started it too late after my pain had started.
- Cortisone (Injection) Working / Worked
- Did help some initially but pain returned shortly afterwards.
- Physical Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- Again, I think I started this too late into the apin so it didn't help.
Open Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI have lived w/chronic severe pain for 10 yrs, which is progressively worsening...had to quit working bc of it. I worked as an R.N. in a Labor/Delivery unit for almost 18 yrs, it was tough to have to quit working. I am unable to take antidepressants bc they interact w/my thyroid med.,and all treatments tried for my chronic pain have failed, so this has only added to my depression. I am ready to move on to the next chapter of my life, and finally I hope to enjoy some of it!
Treatments
- Effexor Not Working
- Had a bad experience(adverse effects) as it caused my thyroid level to go very high and sent me to the hospital. Could only take it one wk.
- Meditation Too Soon to Tell
- I am in the process of finding a good class to learn this, heard good things about it.
- Positive Thinking Working / Worked
- I do believe in this, it does help me.
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- I have a great counselor who is helping me.
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- I need this,but sometimes I feel bad for them bc they must get tired of me.
- Writing Working / Worked
- This is helping me.
- Cymbalta Not Working
- It also reacted wmy thyroid medadverse reaction so I could only take it for one wk.
