I'm a little over a year into this process, with no real end in sight. I am emotionally and financially ruined. Yay me! On the bright side, I have a great family, a useless mongrel Charlie who I love dearly, and best of all- a nearly perfect son who never fails to be my "light at the end of the tunnel"
Interests
Trying to be the best mom I can be. Spending time with my family. Charlie dog. The beach, being on or in the water in any way, shape or form. Trying to make a difference in the lives of my patients and their family members.

Support Groups
Close Breakups & Divorce
My husband recently informed my son and I that we will be divorcing "after the school year ends". Happy New Year. This is all so new and confusing to both my son and I. I hope to find some good advice here, as well as be able to help others as we learn how to work through things together.
Treatments
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- Being with my friends an family have helped in so many ways. I is especially helpful to know that I am worthy of others' love.
- Writing Working / Worked
- Writing lets me express any ugly thoughts I have without detrement to myself or others. Writing also slows down the thought process and allows me to think a little more rationally and calmly.
- Love Too Soon to Tell
- Contrary to the Beatles song- it is apparently not "all you need". I know that there is someone out there for me, but I know I have a lot to work on first.
- Couples Counseling Not Working
- Would I be here if it had worked? The couples counselor we saw started as my husband's therapist. I felt she was a little to willing to take his side, to the point of validating his addictive behaviors. Maybe a different person would be of more help to both of us. But I really think we are beyond that now.
- Support Groups Working / Worked
- Only this one. I am feeling better already! Thanks for all the kind words of support. I am here for you as well!
