Good session with my therapist …
Good session with my therapist and I am feeling positive about the changes I have made and will be making. Still …
Hi everyone,
I have a couple of things to share with all of you and here they are.
First my appointment with my psychiatrist went well. We talked about how things are going with me in general and about my recent hospitalization. Then he said he didn't want to make any med changes right now so as to give the new med changes that were made in the hospital time to work. He wants to see me in a month which is June 23rd at 3:30pm central time.
Second, I got a job interview at 11:00am central time on Friday May 16th at a retirement community in the city where I live. It's a part time, 15 to 25 hours per week position as a dining room server. It's basically serving meals to the residents there, clearing the tables, doing some cleaning and dishwashing. It's a perfect job for me because I used to work with the elderly and really loved it so it's a perfect match for me plus it's not that far from home.
The new med I'm on, Cymbalta, is giving me some trouble. It's giving me insomnia and causing me to gain weight. I've been weighed in at Weight Watchers three times since I've been released from the hospital and I've gained weight for a total of 3.4 pounds which is causing me to get discouraged and frustrated. Hopefully these side effects will be gone soon.
That's all for now. I'll update all of you soon. Have a great Tuesday!
Maggie

Got up early and started out the day just great. The weekend was beautiful and this evening is perfect. I still have …
11:17 am. No sleep. The pain is beyond description this morning as it has been for days now. The RSD has once again …
Sounds like overall things are going really well. Do you take the cymbalta in the morning? If not maybe your doctors would be able to help you in switching it to the morning. That might help with the insomnia. Insomnia is a pain in the behind, I have problems with it too. Hopefully the weight gain will be a temporary side effect, it's not uncommon with these medications (unfortunately for some of us). In the mean time if you can try to be extra careful about eating healthy foods and recommended proportions (that's the hardest part). ***HUGS*** It's hard I know but I know you can do it. Take care.
