Help Needed
I dont know what to do need advice,I am living in a place which I moved into because it was supported accomodation as I know I need support, well all was going okish until the new manger arrived and though my licence agreement states that I am entailed to support during my stay which is two years.
This new manager has not only reduced how long we can stay here from two years to eight months, which is stupid as some people myself included will not be ready to leave then. But also we have all had our support removed and are not allowed to access any, leaving us in a very vunerable position, also he is saying things to us and making promises and breaking them.
The people living and working here are far from happy but are supposedto take it ashe has been in this line of work for ten years therefore what he says goes, well I dont think what he is doing is right heis hurting so many people.
Just want to know if he is allowed to do this and if anyone out there know what I should do in this situation.
I decided to take a day off today....yay....except I'm coming down with something and feel like crap so I guess …

Try and make the best of what you got. I dont know what to say sister. If I were you, I would keep every conversation recorded or written down every time you talk to this person, Document everything for your own safety and piece of mind sister, I hope things get better for you!!
tattman
talk to a lawyer like erichch has suggested.

deffo talk to a lawyer and research online your rights, if he is violating those rights then he should be removed and if you can get a patition together by other people who are living there that would be even better! try to put together a patition, and see what happens, find out who the owners are, if you already know who they are do your best to speak to them, try to write down incidents as well, keep records of whats going on

if your 'license agreement' in great brittain is the same as a 'contract' here in the states, a signed contract cannot be broken unless agreed upon by both parties, or an additional agreement is entered, such as providing housing for the time originally signed in the agreement... definately get some legal counsel, and talk to other residents there...get their take on things...and i agree with tattman, write and record...document, document and document some more....good luck

I think you should talk to a lawyer see what the law is there. That is wrong for him to even do then he is making promises that he no he vant keep. THATS WRONG VERY WRONG
kennady
is there anybody above him you can contact? if not, and you know he is breaking the law, contact a lawyer. he cant do that.

AJ, the manager has a boss somewhere. The place you live was built for the purpose of helping people like you, and this person is really messing with that. If the agreement for length of time and support was in writing, then those that provided this facility need to know that their purpose is being violated and/or "messed with." If you can get several of the residents together with similar stories and write it all down, sign it and present it to the property owner, perhaps you will get some resolution that way. If there was a contract involved, this manager needs to know that you have legal leverage to get what was promised up front. If all the promises were verbal, then you could have problems, but at least having multiple residents with the same story could have more pull. There is such a thing as a verbal contract, but how they are enforced varies from place to place.

Sounds like he is taking rights away its not sounding good and yes by all means have a look on here and research your rights in support accomodation there should be something, and there should also be a phone number for organisations like this so people can put in complaints everything out there has a complaints department you just have to find the phone number looking in a phone book sometimes its easy to find in there, and make sure you talk to no one else but the complaints department, they can help you to find out your rights and what to do if there is a case of taking away peoples rights, its actually a criminal offence to take away the rights of people... hay where there's a will there's a way all the best girl. luv lesley xxxoooxxx
