    • Close Fibromyalgia

I was diagnosed with Fibro about 7 years ago. I had fairly minor pain until I fell in October of 2006. Since then, the pain has increased exponentially. The past 2 months have been agonizing. God WILL get me through this!

      Treatments

      Acupuncture Working / Worked
      Cymbalta Not Working
Tried this for about 2 months... made me want to find a tree to drive my car into! NOT COOL!
      Heat Working / Worked
      Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
      Lyrica Working / Worked
Helps with sleeping. I can definitely tell if I don't take it!
      Massage Working / Worked
      Tramadol Working / Worked
I had really bad hot flashes while getting used to this, but those have worn off and I feel so much better now. The pain has localized to just a few areas rather than being all over the body.
    • Close Scoliosis

I had surgery for Double Scoliosis when I was 12... ahem... 21 years ago. I have the CD rods, was never braced. They said I'd be a barometer for a couple years... still counting!

      Treatments

      Harrington Rods Working / Worked
My curves increased from 45 to 54 degrees in the 6 weeks from schedule date to surgery date. That was 21 years ago. No real troubles with it.
      Chiropractic Adjustment Working / Worked
Works best if going on a regular routine.
      Hydrocodone Working / Worked
I also have fibromyalgia so it's sometimes difficult to tell what is back pain from scoliosis and what's from fibro!
      Orthopedic Brace Working / Worked
I still have some muscle spasms and this helps.
      Massage Working / Worked
      Heat Working / Worked
      Hot pads, hot water, etc.
    • Open Chronic Pain

      Nerve Blocks Working / Worked
      Topamax Working / Worked
    • Open Migraine Headaches

I've had what we used to call "tired headaches" since I was a kid. I'd go to bed for a couple days and sleep it off and be on my way. Since then, they've diagnosed these as migraines and I've been on a host of meds to avoid them and ward them off when I get them. Still found the best thing for it is sleep.

      Treatments

Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
      Axert Not Working
      Caffeine Somewhat Helpful
      Excedrin Somewhat Helpful
      Imitrex Not Working

      Relpax Somewhat Helpful
      Worked for a while
      Topamax Somewhat Helpful
      Zomig Somewhat Helpful
      Frova Working / Worked
      Massage Working / Worked
      Metoprolol Working / Worked
      Oral Contraceptives Working / Worked
    • Open Stress Management

I have been a perfectionist since I was a kid. I'm very competitive and want everything I do, especially at work, to be perfect. My body and house, well, that's another matter. I have severe medical issues & do the best I can there. But my mind & work related stuff... I give it my all.

      Treatments

      Music Working / Worked
The stack of CDs on my desk is overflowing!
      Pets Working / Worked
