I went to my PCP to check on my new blood pressure meds effectiveness.
It seems as if I have to tweak it a bit still. My BP is a little elevated and my pulse rate is up significantly. I have been raised to 300 mg of avapro a day. I hope that does the trick.
It's too bad I had to change my BP meds. they worked really well for me...so much so that I didn't give my hypertension a second thought. It was determined, however, that the altace and the labetalol were exacerbating my asthma so we are trying something different.
Good news is that the kidney impairment reported by my asthma doctor after a blood test is nothing new. My PCP, who was faxed the results, said that it is the same mild kidney impairment we have known about for 7 years. (When I was first diagnosed with hypertension I was tested extensively. It was determined that I probably had been undiagnosed for quite some time. Consequently I suffered some mild kidney damage) In fact, he said that the new results were a bit better than they had been.
Oh well, it's always something. If you push in at one spot, something pops out at another. Nothing to do but keep on trying.
Be well,
tom
Isn't that the truth! Yeah...it is good to be careful and thorough, as you have been saying to me. Glad you are vigilent re: your own health. It really is always something, though.
