.......busy, busy, busy........
Yep, it's fishing season for sure.....8 days since I've written in my journal.....I tell other people to do some work on recovery each and every day.....Do I heed my own advice? Well. it's the nature of my job, I'm afloat, miles from my computer....but I still do something every day....one of the guys I work with is also in recovery, so we often discuss topics of recovery, I carry a daily reading book with me which I read most days, I endeavor to live the 12 steps in my day to day life to the best of my ability.......and for sure, I keep busy--working 16-18 hr days (I've lost 17 lbs of fat in the past 40 days).
No gambling today, sailing again at 4:00 AM, so I'm good for Jay's gamble free Friday again this week......got to connect with a few of my friends here this time home.....got to do a bit of stuff on the 12 steppers group.....got to see my "special someone" and attend a friend's 50th birthday party........busy, busy, busy.........life is full, sweet, rewarding, and filled with hope and gratitude. If you're having a struggle with your addiction, keep the faith, my friend. It gets better. We can all climb back up from our bottom. I know. I've been there. There is a solution, there's always hope, you're never alone, and you're always worth it. Be well.

Beautiful journal entry. Waited 8 days for that one! LOL I get a little smile on my face when you mention your "special someone", Mike's a romantic! My "special someone" is my husband now ;) Life absolutely does get better in recovery, the 12 Steps can only do anyone good. And I'm working my steps, it's a big part of my recovery now. One day at a time, one step at a time. You be careful out there on the high seas! Hey, lots of people would pay to go out there to lose 17lbs in 40 days! LOL Especially if they don't like fish! Do you eat some of the fish you catch on board? Now I'm just asking silly questions! Don't get too skinny, salior...love, ysir Robin
