WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE

Wednesday, June 25: It doesn't seem possible that is has already been 2 years. My dear dad passed away 2 years ago today. He was just 2 weeks short of celebrating 90 years on this earth. We were going to give him a surprise party and had the invitations sent out. In stead, we had a wake and celebration of his life. My dad was a recovering alcoholic and type 2 diabetes. For the last several years it seemed like he had 1 foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. But, he outlived mom by about a year and a half. He had lots of little sayings, some, you had to know my dad to appreciate them. He never said, at least in his later years, excuse me when he passed gas. He'd say "Oops, that's workin'." Whenever Rob and I went away on a date before we got married he'd tell us to "keep 'er between the ditches." But I think everyone's favorite was when we'd be at a family gathering and he'd tell us to "take all you want but, eat all you take." Make nephew even said that at his wedding last year in honor of his grandpa. Life goes on and even though we had our dad with us for a long time, we still miss him. I know he is happy being back with mom and his parents and my eldest sister. We love you dad!
