Hi Friends,

     Just wanted to update my friends at this website.  My sister finisehd her chemo in June and there is no new cancer on the cat scans.  She takes a cat scan every 2 months.  It is a very scarey time when the cat scans are due.  My sister Pam is now taking a trial at the University of Chicago.  They are giving a vaccine every 2 weeks.  It is called CEA.  They give this vaccine in the hopes that she will make her own immunity to the cancer cells and therefore fight off any very early malgnant cells that might come back.  Pam is very upbeat and positive.  She feels good.... just having some trouble with persistant anemia even though the chemo is done.  Not too happy about that as the wbc's and platlets are normal.  She takes each day at a time and will start back working at the middle school in August.  Thanks for all of you guys help during this time.  It has been so very helpful to us.  I'll keep you all posted.
