About Me
I am a mother of three of the most wonderful children in this whole entire world! I have a 8 year old girl and a 5 year old boy. I also have a new born son who is the quietest baby that I have ever seen! At least, so far!He is certainly a far cry from the way my other two were. I'm certainly thankful for that in itself! I also have a great husband. I work part time in my children's school. I found out this past year that I have fibromyalsia. I'm glad that I found this site by pure accident. I hope to find people who are going through the same stuff that I am. I thank all of you for putting your thoughts and feelings on this site for all of us to read.

Thanks for message.Dravets is a severe rare form of epilepsy,difficult to control.She will always have severe learning difficulties and autism.Our last bit of hope i feel at the minute has been taken from us.She may never talk.WE dont no what the future brings.Am still in shock and feel like the world has stopped.Sorry for sounding so depressing,Mariexx

Close Epilepsy & Seizures
Hi,I'm not sure who this is being sent to but I have a 6 year old son who has epilepsy and also takes the tonic-clonic seizures and absence seizures and now takes myo-clonic seizures as well. We made it to London with him to see a paediactric neurologist.So far,so good.Everything is starting to look great! Right now he takes lamictal, clobazam,topamax and another pill called clonadine to help him to sleep. If anyone has any advice,please contact me through my e-mail at supermomma_1977@msn.com.
Treatments
- Clobazam Working / Worked
- Son was on this med for a long time intil his seizures started becoming really uncontrollable.Replacement drug is clonazapam.
- Depakote Not Working
- Made my son extremely hyper.Made him aggressive,abusive,impulsive,didn't listen at all,was in trouble everyday at school, etc.
- Diastat Working / Worked
- Only use in cases of seizures that last more than 5 minutes. Works immediately.He usually sleeps for a few hours afterwards.
- Keppra Not Working
- Made son a zombie. He didn't interact with anybody.For the two weeks he was on it, he stayed in his room on his own decision.He didn't act like himself at all.He was too quiet!
- Klonopin Too Soon to Tell
- Lamictal Working / Worked
- My son is still taking this med. He has been on it for a little over a year. Meds still go up every once in a while. Is on clobazam as well for seizures.
- Topamax Not Working
- Seemed to work beautifully for the first three weeks,then stopped working.We kept him on for another month or so and increased the med to see if there was any difference,but there wasn't.His seizures kept on getting worse by the day.Now,we have to try him on a diffierent med.Side effects were defiance,out of control behaviour,wetting the bed,not eating or drinking unless forced to,itching,headaches,aggitation,aggravation to others,severely emotional, etc.
