About Me
I am a wife and mom who works full-time at a University. It is certainly a struggle to get up and go at times. I hate having this disorder - ESPECIALLY the depressions. They're pretty hard to handle.............. I AGONIZE OVER NEW FRIEND REQUESTS. I REALLY CHOOSE FRIENDS CAREFULLY BASED ON COMMON INTERESTS, AND THEY "MUST" HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER..............I TRY TO KEEP MY FRIEND LIST SMALL SO I CAN KEEP IN CONTACT WITH EVERYONE.
Interests
I enjoy being with my family.....music.....watching TV.....traveling.....art and museums.....walking around big cities.....roller coasters.....ghost stories.....crime stories.....reading magazines, newspapers and classic novels.....movies.....most children.....singing along to music.....and walking through cemetaries...........I'm also a big Pittsburgh Steeler fan!!!

I know right?! My hubby got me a guitar last Christmas ( a nice Fender acustic) and our friend was asking why I didn't play. I have alot of pain in my hands that doesnt' allow me to play so we went and got it and started jamming. Man can that guy play. It was soooo relaxing. Then they left and I got depressed immediatley. WTH? I suppose I've just been lonely and didn't want the night to end. Well, Im off to the pharmacy to get my drugs. Talk at you later.

Good morning! We had lots of fun. Our friend played my guitar by the fire and we all sang and drank. Good times! Gonna take it easy today before my little girl gets home. Hope you have a good Sunday too!

Support Groups
Close Bipolar Disorder
A Psychiatrist diagnosed me as Bipolar around 2003. In late 2006, I experienced a severe manic episode at work which prompted my employer to require me to contact the Employee Assistance Program. Through them, I was thoroughly evaluated and tested by a psychologist who confirmed my diagnosis as Bipolar 1. I was declared not fit for duty until I sought therapy and psychiatric care selected by this psychologist. My husband and son are very patient and supportive (so far.)

Open Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
For the most part, I think I'm more obsessive than compulsive. When I get a thought in my head, I often can't let it go. I dwell on it and think of it endlessly. Sometimes it's harmful, though, like sticking pins in my arms, and compulsively I act on it. Therapy has helped.
