    About Me

i'm 19 and i just started attending university of WA. for the first time i'm really enjoying everyday life. getting out of my parent's house has really been a good thing... and being on a campus like this is great: i'm walking a ton and just loving every minute of being there. but getting to this point hasn't been easy. i've been through a lot... migraines, depression, and PCOS. i remember getting daily headaches as young as 8, then at 12 when i "started" things just got worse. life is a journey and it's finally starting to get a lot better.

    Interests

i love playing the piano and spending time with friends, though i do enjoy my time alone. i am going to school to become a chemical engineer (3/5 years complete) and i love math.

I wrote this poem several years ago and hope that you will enjoy it and that it may give comfort and reassurance into the meaning of life. It goes as follows: LIFE'S JOURNEY I pray that God will bless you At the start of each new day And grant you health and happiness And friends to share your way As you journey through this life To reach that Ultimate Goal May you find peace and happiness Deap within your soul The road is long and narrow Full of trials and sufferings too But you must continually endure it As the appropriate thing to do Each of us has a tunnel Either filled with thorns or roses We must travel through the thorny tunnel To achieve heaven and the roses. • Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

I don't think I'd ever really had a normal period till this year. I started at 12 and now I'm 19... It took me a long time to get help because my mom and I argued over everything, and every time i would bring up a health issue or complain about my periods, she just thought I was whining. (my mom doesn't cramp. ever.)

      Treatments

      Oral Contraceptives Not Working
Birth control was the 2nd thing my doctor tried. It didn't work at all, it gave me seizure-like symptoms, which then lead to me having an MRI.
      Provera Working / Worked
this has helped me GREATLY. I am actually getting regular periods for the first time in my life. Not only that, but I don't cramp NEARLY as much.
