About Me
I am 38 years old. I am married to the funniest, kindest, most adorable man in the world. We spend lots of time with my two sisters and their families including our adorable nieces and nephew. I am a special education teacher in a quaint suburban elementary school that is so old we even have fireplaces in many of the classrooms! We are hoping, dreaming and praying for a child to love and parent, however, he or she comes to us!
Interests
I love to cook, read and decorate. I am slowly getting a green thumb and have taken an interest in beginning gardening. I have ambitions of learning how to knit this summer--wish me luck!!

Close Miscarriage
Became pregnant after 5 years of infertility during first cycle of IVF in May '07. Miscarried baby at 10 weeks 5 days on July 15, 2007.
Treatments
- In Vitro Fertilization Somewhat Helpful
- Pregnant after first round of IVF. Miscarried at 10weeks 5days. Will start second cycle of IVF in late September if all goes according to plan.
Close Infertility
Diagnosed with PCOS and left fallopian tube obstruction. First round of IVF determined the right ovary was unaccessable via uterus, therefore eggs are not retrievable from that side.
Treatments
- In Vitro Fertilization Too Soon to Tell
- IVF ROUND 2: Starting b/c after AF arrives. Lupron to start in mid September. Stim protocol starts 9/26 if all goes according to plan.
Open Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
I have had PCOS my whole reproductive life. Other than excess weight and and a little extra hair on my chin (and the hell trying to take both off), I wasn't terribly bothered. That was until 6 years ago when we started ttc. Two IVFs and 2 m/c later I am desperate!
Treatments
- Metformin Working / Worked
- Never really ovulated, but since my last m/c I am consistently ovulating every month! Been taking it for a little over a year and still have the horrible GI upset!
- Oral Contraceptives Working / Worked
- Started taking bcp when I was in my early teens to give me a monthly cycle, as I either had 60 day periods or none at all prior to bcp.
- Repronex Working / Worked
- Got pregnant twice with Menopur during IVF, but I lost both towards the end of the first trimester.
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- Followed South Beach diet and lost 35 lbs before first IVF. I have managed to keep it off and am trying to lose more before IVF 3 in June.
