      Type: Seconday Progressive MS

      First visible signs in '93. RRMS in mid '90s. Dx'd '98. SPMS in '02. Left job '03; I made the decision to leave. On LTD.

      Treatments

      Novantrone Working / Worked
      IV every 3 months for 2 years. Chemotherapy. Useful for RR(SP). Has restrictions and limitations. Reduced exascerbations. '03-'05
      Rebif Somewhat Helpful
      Started injections Nov.'06. Signs of improvement in Feb.'07. Caught in paper snafu April '07; stopped injections end of April.
      Effexor Working / Worked
      Keeps my mind and emotions stable and focussed.
      Prozac Working / Worked
      Works similar to Effexor. Not to be feared.
      Ativan Working / Worked
      Another one for my mental health; for anxiety.
      Trazodone Somewhat Helpful
      For bedtime; lets me get some sleep. Has foggy-head morning side-effect. Stopped taking it. I now will only use Zopiclone.
      Lunesta Working / Worked
      Also used for sleep. Less aggrevating than Trazadone.
      Corticosteroids Working / Worked
      A quick IV 'fixer-upper' for early RR. Can be administered via home-care. Not to be overused. Used before Novatrone.
      Crying Working / Worked
      An outward expression of my displeasure with my situation. I do it. I endorse it.
      Psychotherapy Working / Worked
      Somebody to keep me in check.
      Ibuprofen Working / Worked
      Minimizes the effects of Rebif.
      Red Wine Working / Worked
      Minimizes the effects of anything.
      Mirapex Working / Worked
      for the shaky leg at night. Calms it down so i can sleep.
      Inderal Working / Worked
      For calming Essential Tremour of hands and head. aka: propranolol

      I'm also a single father, divorced. My daughter is 19, first year university. She became a 'shared child'/joint custody 18 years ago. Since it was her mom's choice to leave, i had to restructure my life. Nine years ago, i had to relearn: diagnosed with MS.

      APL dx'd in october '07; started chemo in november '07. In remission december '07.
