I read your comment to Enchantment and I wanted to thank you for your words. I finished chemo/rad about 6 weeks ago and have surgery on Tuesday to take out my rectum (I choose to retire it with honors) and gratefully assign a section of my colon to be a J-pouch (I choose to call it a Jesus Pouch). Trusting that He will be there along with Angels to empower the surgeon and his crew. Knowing others who are making it through this one successful day at a time is so helpful to me right now. Thanks for sharing your experience. Bless you! Catherine

      Stage: IV (Any T, Any N, M1)

Colon Cancer diagnsis in August of 2005 at age 35; have 1 child age 3; have had 2 rounds of chemo... cancer is back... trying to decide what to do.

      Treatments

      5-FU Somewhat Helpful
Seems to cause the cancer to stay in remission until I come off of it...
      Avastin Considering
Don't really know. Caused me to have a lot of joint and muscle pain which I still endure 6 months later.
      Radiotherapy Considering
Don't really know since I had a recurrance... not in the area that I had radiation though.
      Surgery Somewhat Helpful
Removed the tumors that were visible; however, I have had recurrances.
