  Happy Birthday Jesus and Merry Christmas to all my brothers and sisters in Christ and my dear friends. I would like to share a something very beautiful and serene that happened tonight. Our little family went to our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. It was based on the word "joy". Have you ever really thought about the word joy and how it relates to our relationship with our Savior? The worship team performed a skit regarding a man who was lost and when a young man stopped in to wish him a Merry Christmas, his response was "What is the big deal with this holiday?" "I see you everyday and you are so happy all the time, why is that?" The young man Ben said "Im not happy all the time, Im just filled with joy." The older man, Bob said "Well isnt happy and joy the same thing?" Ben said "No, they are not. Happiness is a fleeting emotion but if you have joy in your life than nothing gets you down." Bob asked Ben to explain. Ben then asked if Bob ever went to church or was familiar with Jesus. Bob said no, I am not into the Bible thumping, hell and brimstone type of person. Ben just chuckled and said that is not what Christianity is about. Christianity starts with "You". Bob said how does it start with me. Ben said it starts with you believing in God. Ben then went on to explain how believing in God, then believing in God's gift to his children, the gift of forgiveness through his son Jesus which leads to accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Once you have been saved you need Other Christians to accompany you on your walk with Him. Bob said "Ahh, so the difference between Happiness and Joy is Jesus. Ben said yes, you need the "J" for Jesus, the "O" for other Christians to help guide and worship with, and the "Y" is the better you. You must put Jesus before all else in your life. You need to worship and surronded yourself with Christians, and give of yourself to help Others. By living with Jesus leading your life, you become filled with JOY. What a beautiful Christmas message!! The serene part of the evening came at the last song, Silent Night, Holy Night. During the second verse, the worship team stopped playing and it was just our voices singing to the Glory of God!! What a wonderous feeling that is to be surrounded by your brothers and sisters and all of our voices are in perfect harmony singing our praises to our Shephard!!! This must be what Heaven will be like, all of us lifting up our prayers and our songs to magnify Him!! Dear Heavenly Father, I come before you, humbled at your feet. This is the day for which we proclaim Your birth. What a glorious day that was! Jesus, you are the reason, we sing your praises of Good Tidings and Peace on Earth. The day you were born, the angels most high, sang to your Glory. Even the lowest of animals kneeled before you. You are my Savior, my confident, my protector, my healer, my love. You know my darkest moments and my brightest hours. You knew me in my mother's womb and you also know the time you will call me home. You are the word Joy personified. I ask you Lord Jesus to bless each and everyone this day. You know their needs and I ask that they be fulfilled to bring Glory to you. You know the deepest part of their hearts and if there is someone who reads this prayer and does not know the JOY of You, please send Your Holy Spirit to touch their hearts so that they can be adopted into Your family. I pray Lord for travel mercies for everyone. Please send your angels to protect them as they go about their day and that they return safe into the bosom of their homes. I ask that as the New Year approaches, we are given a new sense of hope in humanity and that come back to the basics of life. Our forefathers had it right in that all we need is "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Somewhere along the way, Lord God, we hve become misguided and distracted from what is most important, for there is nothing more important than You and the love of one another as you have loved us. I pray a special prayer for all the children that are growing up in this turbulent time. Watch over them Lord Jesus. Protect them from the evils of this world, let them not become of the world, let them have parents and role models that will guide them in the Word. I ask Jesus that this coming year be a productive and financially secure year for my family. I pray that this year brings my family closer to you and I pray that you awaken Jon's heart through my actions so that He may be brought into the family of God. I pray for special protection for my daughter. Send your angels with swords drawn to protect her as she goes through her life. Let her never experience the evils of this world and may she choose through my guidance to life her live for the Glory of you. I pray all of this in Your Son Jesus' Precious Name, Amen. Have a blessed day and may your heart always be filled with Joy!!!
