How are you doing? I watched the news a little while ago and saw that your area is very flooded. Did you get thru it o.k.? We did fine here. Gotta run. Please let me know when you can. Kim

That's right. I think you told me where you were once before. No memory here. That's pretty sad for my age. Oh boy. So glad it's not bad for you either. They just put on the news that we are to stay off the roads tomorrow except for emergencies. I can't even imagine that it will still be around by tomorrow from what the images show. It looks like most of it will pass us overnight. I know what you mean about the winds. We didn't think Wilma was going to be a big deal so we didn't shutter up and I thought our sliding glass doors were going to blow in during the second half of it. I lost my first home to Hurricane Andrew back in '92 so I respect the weather. I don't freak out but I watch and try to prepare accordingly. Glad you are doing good. I'm gonna get off of here finally and go back to reading this book Making the Connection Between Brain and Behavior with Parkinson's Disease. I've only read some and it's just a great book! Have you read it?

How are you doing? Not too bad here. Just heard about a "cell" with 55 mph winds heading this way but we've been doing fine. Mom is calmer. She's watching the movies I rented for her. Paul and I went earlier today and closed the shutters on her house that I'm trying to sell. No loss of power. Mom kept thinking it would do like Wilma did but I don't think so. I sure hope and pray it's just a rain-maker for those who need it. Hope you're all settled in and just relaxing. Kim

Gosh yes! I've lost satellite even though, that goes pretty easy. But I had to tell Mom b/c it's really nasty out. We're just getting a bad band right now. Power keeps blinking which seems a little too soon for me. It's just a bad band is all. Didn't know you were by me so yes, please get yourself ready. I've got to get to Mom's. I'm hoping I'll have computer later. I'm charging the battery now so I'll have it for a little while here and there once the power goes. Please take care of yourselves and let me know how you are once it's over. Kim

You just put a big smile on my face. I will give my baby a big hug for you right now. I was pretty sure I was going to get the white ones (not soft - didn't sound like a good idea to me either) as well. I cannot imagine your cats liked that very much. I know it will probably take a few tries with Sash too. And, yes, it is more that she is not able to get around than anything else at this point. A week or so ago I read a post on the Pet Lovers page where someone told a person that it was selfish or wrong to keep an animal alive in that state (similar to Sasha's). She was fine with her walker until just a little over a week ago. I don't know. Like I said, day by day and love on her like there's no tomorrow. I have the claypaws page open so I'm gonna order right now. I'll let you know how it goes. Thank you again!

Thank you for the idea and website. I went on it and I am definitely going to order it. Did you order more than one for the first try in case you messed up? What a great keepsake. I have been feeling a little better ever since I started doing what you (and my hubby) said about not dreading, etc. He told me if I can handle taking care of her with her handicap and cleaning her up and cleaning up after her when there are accidents, then just to keep doing what I am doing b/c I am not ready. I am taking it one day at a time and not looking to when it will have to be done, etc. As I said before, my main concern was not being selfish and letting her suffer. How great it would be if they could speak. I looked into the wheels for the front of her walker and trying to decide whether to do it or not. She is still so alert and wags her tail when I love on her and when I take her out and hold up her bottom so she can do her business. She eats great and is just loving all of her treats. I will keep you updated. You have been a blessing to me. Kim

Had to get back on for a second just to thank you for your comment on my journal. It really means a LOT. Yes, she is my little baby. Like a child. It's been the best friendship I could have ever asked for. 15 years. The only reason I'm struggling with the dreading is b/c I know she wants to be up and about and she cannot. While I am giving her treats and so much love and attention I just know she is probably frustrated. I know if she was really suffering in pain I would have the strength to do what had to be done. I just don't know if I am being selfish or not and I am really struggling with that. I want to put her first but since she cannot talk I don't know what she wants. I was going to see about front wheels for the cart since they make those too but don't know it that would help her or not. I will keep on doing what you said and loving her to pieces and spoiling her like crazy for as long as I possibly can. Thank you so much, Kim
