Journal Entry for July 13, 2008 Mood
Sunday, July 13, 2008
It's not going to work.  Millie is becoming more
territorlial and more aggressive
as time goes by. Her controntational attitude is out of control and Heinze
is getting pushed out - no matter how much I admonish MIllie - she's at him.

I didn't realize how old Heinze had become - I knew in years - he's 13 this month - but I thought he felt better than he apparently does.  His decline happened so fast.

So Millie goes back tomorrow.  I think it will
just be Heinze and me from now on.

He loves his walks - and if I take him out twice
a day - he'll be very happy.

I'm giving him homeopathic medicine for his arthritis so that
should make him feel better too.

I just want Heinze to have his last years - or months - not sure
which it is - to be lived out happily.  He is
such a good boy.   I will miss him so much when he goes.

I want to turn back time but I know that I can't - he's my baby but there's
nothing I can do about this..

Thank you for being here and caring.

oh, I understand so well. Millie will find a more appropriate home, and Heinz will have you and peace the rest of his days. They will be long days too. I love my mugsy, and when I look at that now grey muzzle, and the little bit cloudy eyes, I think,,"oh baby, don't get old". He has been my constant when my whole life was in chaos. He and I understand each other, as I'm sure you and Heinz do. I don't know what words to say, except I do understand, I know.

If Heinze could understand what you are doing for him I am sure he would appreciate it immencely. It is not fair that they should go before we do but if you figure the amount of joy they give us then they have lived a long life. Eric

I am so sorry it has been so long since I have checked in with you - life has gotten in the way of getting on here, but your entry made my heart break - I understand so what you are feeling with Heinze. We have only had our Bella girl for two years, and she was a bit older when we got her - I cannot imagine life without her, so I know what you are going through. We often think of getting her a companion as well, but so far have decided against it. You are doing the best you can and I am sure Heinze will be so happy to have his home back. Please hang in there...

Am reading this backwards, of course, but have you ever noticed that the female likes to let the male know whose 'boss' before she relinguishes her atttitude to love?
    It's the strangest thing......
But it's true........don't know why, but am glad to be reading your journals in reverse chronological order.....
    :)
